DIASPORA: Dedicated for all that are forced or induced to leave their traditional homelands.

Radio Diáspora is a form of, educational, cultural and informative communication that aims to impulse a participatory and protagonical democracy, solidarity and the integration of Latin-American, the Caribbean and North America from the starting point that communication has to be in tune with new political, economical and social models grounded in equality.

In Radio Diáspora, the main characters is the community and all its members, the ordinary person, the millions of men and women of color that are invisible to the current cultural, political and social globalizing agents.  Through Diaspora it is possible to know the reality, the life and the struggles of afro descendants, indigenous, laborers, immigrants, men, women, elderly, disabled, gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, youths and children.

Through Diaspora we produce and research educational, cultural and informative content that are directed to people as they are- main social characters that modify and self-determine their realities that aid in the exercise of liberty to create and produce.  Their experiences, and their way of seeing the world are a starting point for building a common identity that reflects their lives and their daily struggles.

Radio Diaspora is produced by the Latin American and Caribbean Community Center’s Radio Diaspora Collective, Janvieve Williams Comrie, Pilar Mendez, Sunyata Altenor, Ajamu Baraka, Regina Whipple, Badili Jones.
